SVA Village Students Join the Conversation

You're in a Christian school, and many of you have probably been in a Christian home your entire life. You've learned about God, you've learned about the Bible, and you've heard countless stories and sermons about Jesus, but we know from experience that none of these things are a guarantee that you'll have that which matters most, a sincere and growing relationship with Jesus.

Despite the efforts of your parents, teachers, and pastors, it's likely many of you share questions that haven't been answered to your satisfaction. It's likely some of you share doubts and frustrations with the traditions and culture of organized religion, or with Adventism, that you haven't had the opportunity or willingness to voice in your school or church. Some of you may be questioning your place in that religion and some of you may be looking forward to a new stage in life where your participation is no longer a daily requirement. Some of us did too.

We're restarting our small group for SVA village students not because you haven't had enough religion, but because we want to do all we can to ensure you leave your high school experience understanding that religion isn't the point, Jesus is. The purpose of this group is to provide an opportunity for your voice to be central to the discussion, for your questions and concerns to drive the study, and if at all possible, for you to grow closer to the only Being in the universe who truly knows you and loves you unconditionally.

We hope to meet once a month on Sabbath afternoon for a two hour session from 3-5pm. The meetings will be hosted at the home of the Kinney family here in New Market (address below). Light snacks will be provided.
